Hi Reader,
I hope you had a great week (and weekend)! I'm ending my week with a bowl of chicken soup and a glass of red wine in front of the computer, while I can hear the preliminary rumblings of another thunderstorm building. I have so many things planned for next week, including spring cleaning the house, creating a packing list and creating a (preliminary) itinerary for our upcoming trip to the Western Cape for Christmas and New Year! This will also be my last newsletter for the year, so...
A lovely e-book that I made a while back could make the perfect gift for your child who's just starting to show an interest in learning to read. The book is instantly downloadable when you purchase it from Etsy and then you can print it all at once, or print it one page a time for your child to complete and decorate their room with. This will encourage learning as well as bring out their creative side. Once you've purchased it you can print it as many times as you want.
You can view more details and photos of this book by clicking the link below:
All my digital products are available on my Etsy shop. If there is something that you might like that is not available there, please let me know and I will create it. I'm always looking for new ideas.
Your freebie for this week is printable wall art! The files are extremely big, so I'm going to share it with you via a Google Drive link. You click on the link to open Google Drive and then you save the files to your computer. You will need to unzip the folder (click here for instructions if you don't know how to do this). You can print them any size you want, frame them, and hang them on your wall. Please tag me on Instagram (@KathuKat) if you hang one, or all of them, on your wall! If you guys like this, I will try and create more and make them available for sale on my Etsy shop. You get these ones for free because you've subscribed and I like you!
I've crafted a new blog post about how to plant an All-American Kitchen Garden in a raised bed. Writing this blog post made me SO excited to start a garden, but we'll have to wait for the new house before we start planning any new gardens. Hopefully I inspire you to start a great new garden! Read all about it here.
My *new* lavender fragranced aloe vera gel is available to buy here. They're only R70 and can be used for a wide variety of skin ailments for young and old. I put it on at night, right before my moisturizer, and it keeps (most of) the wrinkles at bay! It also works really well for mosquito bites and any other bug bites you might suffer from. It takes that itch away almost immediately. Read more about the wonderful properties about aloe gel here.
There are a very limited amount of candles left, so if you still want to buy one for Christmas, now is the time to do so! Only R195! This is the very special launch price, the candles will no doubt be more expensive next year, as the prices are going up everywhere... *insert sad face*
There are a few Sandalwood scented soaps left, and the Lavender essential oil soaps were made on the 15th of November, and they are finally on sale! You can check them out here.
Series we're currently watching - Wednesday
Jenna Ortega is brilliantly cast as Wednesday Addams in this Tim Burton adaptation. Watch the trailer below:
Best movie I watched this week - Richard Jewell
This movie was directed by Clint Eastwood and stars one of my favourites, Sam Rockwell, as Watson Bryant, Richard Jewell's attorney.
Netflix has this movie tagges as 'Scandalous', 'Drama', and 'Media Circus' which describes exactly what the media turned into with the story of Richard Jewell. You will cry. I promise you.
Have you ever walked into your house and it smells just like nothing? I don't know about you but I want my house to smell nice ALL THE TIME. I thought this was unrealistic, but boy was I wrong. I bought an AMAZING smelling room spray 2 years ago and it is finally used up, so I rinsed out the bottle and decided to use my perfume alcohol with some fragrance oils and I created a new room spray. It's Boyfriend approved (his only requirement was that it doesn't smell like toilet spray - and apparently it doesn't)! It smells ridiculously luxurious, actually, so I'm liberally spraying this all over the house. I'm using it as room spray and linen spray. The fragrance lasts a really long time, even after coming home after a full day of work, you can still smell it when you walk inside. This is the dream! No more non smelling houses, only luxurious smelling ones! I'm going to try and launch with four fragrances - and I'll announce it in this newsletter with a special launch price!
My plan is to bottle this in a 200 ml clear glass atomizer - you will get about 8 - 12 sprays per 1 ml, so if you have a 10 room house (who does!?) and you give each room 4 sprays each day, that means your 200 ml room spray will last you about 40 - 60 DAYS or 1600 - 2400 sprays!
Retail price: R250.00
Wholesale price: R190.00 (you will need a valid Business Registration Number to qualify for this price)
10 ml sample price: R20.00 (comes in reusable glass spritzer bottle)
*this room spray will not be diluted with water - ingredients will only include hight quality perfumer's alcohol and locally produced fragrance oils
Last night we grilled some steak and of course I had to make some braaibroodjies! Some of my American friends will remember this from our Korean days. This one is a little bit improved and a whole lot better I think! Tag me in your photos when you try this recipe! @KathuKat
How do you schedule your house cleaning? Do you just clean it as you go, or do you have a set schedule for each room and item in that room? I use TickTick to schedule each room, and this includes things like washing the curtains, sweeping and mopping the floors, changing the bedding, etc. TickTick is the best app ever to plan and manage your time with. E.g. I schedule to replace my towels every four days, I schedule my garden watering every second day (depending on the season), dusting every second to third day, and so on. Let me know how you plan your cleaning schedule. I want to create a freebie download that everyone can print to make this process easier (and more enjoyable) for people who feel overwhelmed by cleaning. The best tip I have to offer is clean a little bit every day so that you're not overwhelmed by doing everything on a Saturday. And that way, your house is always more or less ready to receive unanounced guests.
Take a clean and empty spray bottle, fill it halfway with dish soap (I use Sunlight Liquid) and top it up with white spirit vinegar. Mix well by gently shaking the bottle - not too much, you don't want to make any bubbles. This is my new go to cleaning product! You can use this same mixture for your dishes. It is VERY soapy, so use sparingly. Try it and let me know. So far I've used it to clean the bath, dishes, windows, and our floors. It's amazing!
All of you know Joe Rogan, and yes, he's had some controversial guests on his show. But that is so great, and so interesting, and the thing about podcasts is that you can listen to what you want, and if you're offended by them, just don't listen to them anymore. As easy as that! I 'met' Graham Hancock through Joe Rogan's podcast, and he is one of the most interesting people in the world. He's a journalist who is fascinated with human history. History never really interested me until I heard Graham Hancock talk so passionately about it. Click below to listen to the very first episode he appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast way back in September 2011. If you like this one, look for the others on Spotify as well, there are many! If you're interested to buy his book, Fingerprints of the Gods, that they discuss in the podcast, you can buy it here.
If there's anyone else that you think would like to receive this newsletter (and freebies), please forward this email to them so that they can sign up for the newsletter here.
Hello Reader, I just wanted to drop you a quick email to let you know about the perfume that I still have in stock. I have changed to a new 60 ml bottle wich will be on sale soon (the first one being Flower Bomb by Viktor and Rolf). If there is a perfume that you would like me to make for you, please let me...
Hi Reader, Happy New Year! By now most of us are back at work and probably some of you (like me) had too great a vacation and now my clothes are a bit tighter than usual. But that doesn't matter, our vacation was AMAZING! Cape Town was HOT and WINDY and EXPENSIVE, but I'm glad we went. Now it's back to the grind :) Today's email is just a short summary of what's going on! The next one will have a bunch more content for me to ramble on about. Digital Content I am currently working on creating...
